How it works

Doors and windows are protected by wireless sensors, which detect when a door or window is opened or closed. This sets off the security system before an intruder gets inside the home. These sensors also provide a convenient reminder that a door or window remains open when arming the system. The interior motion sensor is your second line of defense because it can detect an intruder inside the home should they manage to bypass the door/window sensors.

How it protects your home

A security system is designed to protect you, your family, and your possessions when your home is occupied or unoccupied, plus the Sievers system provides home automation functions and can be accessed and controlled remotely through text messaging or a smart phone app.

How to turn it On and Off (While at Away)

To turn on the alarm system simply push the AWAY button on the keypad. You have now turned on all doors, windows and motion sensors. You will have 50 seconds to leave through the door where the keypad is located. When you return home, the keypad will beep to remind you to turn off your alarm.

How to turn it On (While at Home)

To turn on the alarm system for door and window protection only (perimeter), simply push the STAY button on the keypad. The door and window sensors are armed but the motion sensors remain unarmed allowing you to walk freely inside the home.

How do I choose an alarm system?

You can look at security systems like anything else in life, you get what you pay for. Before you choose your security system, decide what level of protection you and your family require for your home. A Sievers Security system provides entry protection PLUS additional protection from intrusion can be installed on first and second floor windows, basement windows, and windows near roof lines and porches.

How long is the monitoring contract?

There is no monitoring contract with our DIY security system. The traditional/touchscreen security systems’ offer monitoring contracts for 36 months and also “no annual contracts” as well. Under the “no annual contract” option the security system monitoring is just on month to month basis. Or you may elect to pay less upfront and spread the payments over 36 months. You may discontinue the monitoring service after the initial term or you may continue the service for as long as you like.

Who does your monitoring?

Sievers Security owns and operates their own Central Monitoring Station which is exclusively dedicated to monitoring and responding to security, fire and medical alarms. We maintain a state-of-the-art facility equipped to handle security systems with redundancy options such as internet monitoring and cellular backup capabilities.

When you call our monitoring center, you will talk to a Sievers Security representative. While many alarm providers use third party answering services, Sievers Security does NOT subcontract your monitoring. Call us any time, day or night, we'll be there — ready to serve you.

Where is your monitoring station?

Our monitoring facility is located in Cleveland, Ohio. We provide monitoring to both local and national clients.

Do I own the alarm system?

Yes, the system is yours to keep. Under the “no annual contract” option the security system monitoring is just on month to month basis. Or you may elect to pay less upfront and spread the payments over 36 months. You may discontinue the monitoring service after the initial term or you may continue the service for as long as you like.

How long does it take to install an alarm system?

Most alarm systems will only require one day to install.
